For those who don't know, there's theatres showing Serenity pretty much everywhere over the next couple of days. Bostons is 7pm tonight at the AMC Fenway. How it works is different, though.
Various Sci-Fi orginizations in the area have been given passes. NE Browncoats, Harvard SF group, and (supposedly) Arisia for example. Each pass admits 2. There's more passes than seats, just so you're forewarned. Arrive as early as you can to get seats.
I know that the NE Browncoats will be outside the Fenway theater starting at 4pm today, handing out passes. The contact for the NE Browncoats goes by the name 'twilight021' online, and writes "I'm a petite brunette. I will try to wear something obvious, like a red shirt, and maybe have a sign with me or something. So I have 75 passes, each pass admits two. I believe seats are on a first come first serve basis though."
I'm tempted, but will pass. But if you haven't seen it, you should go. It's a great movie, and this is a fantastic opportunity to see it for free and help spread the word about the film.
